I first met someone like that in high school.  (You - with the long last name that sounds like an animal on the African savannah, who once allowed me to drive your yellow convertible VW Beetle up the coast, but I didn't realize it was so tough because the parking brake was on the entire time... Yep, you.)

I met many more of those kinds of people in college.  (You - the one with the enormous head of curly red hair and a big voice to match, with the enormous round raft that we took out on Lake Lagunita... You - the one who took off every other quarter to go train for Olympic luge... and You - the one who joined the university band to play trumpet, even though you didn't actually play trumpet... And so many more of you... Yep, you.)

And it has continued since.  (You - the ones who have to stand up just to defend their lifestyle... You - the ones who drop the safety of a standard career to follow the dream before it's too late... You - the ones who don't give up and just accept getting out of shape when you've passed 30... and You - the one who faced your demons head-on, without a shred of protective clothing...  Yep, all of you.)

So we wrote a song to honor as many of these people as we could.  This song is called Star Shine.  Each line or two in the song is a reference to a real person who inspires others just by the way they live.  It's playing on various internet radio stations, such as Women of Substance Radio and Jango.  It's on a compilation CD coming out around the end of 2009.  But it's not done.

We invite you to join the project.

What's it about?

We would like you to share your short inspirational stories with us and the world!  Write your own line or verse to Star Shine, describing people who have inspired YOU.

We will edit submissions into a new mix and post the collaborative piece, along with more information and contact links for all participants (unless you don't want your contact info and/or identity shared).

And you can honor the people who have inspired YOU to become who you are today.
